Post 8, summer plans

Good morning everyone,

In this ocassion I'm gonna talk about my summer plans. Until now, I'm thinking in work during january and half of february, I need to earn some money now to pay debts and buy new devices for my mountain equipment. I didn't look for a job yet, but maybe It's time to start moving.

Taking aside my work plans, I have the intentions to participate in december in COP25 as a volunteer. Now I'm in the process of postulation - trainings to be part of this event on the first days of the month. After that, I will stay home to pass christmas and new year with my family, and also take a little rest before starting work.

Sadly, I have no plans (and money) to travel by myself in the last days of my vacations. After work I have to go to Valdivia to see my sister and my nephew, he will be born on these days; so I want to take my last days of vacations to spend time with my family and also to stay with this little boy, I'm really excited and happy for that.

Before all of this plans, I was looking for another volunteer work in february in a natural park, as a helper for the parkrangers in parque tagua-tagua, a natural reserve near of Cochamó and Puerto Montt, it's a beautiful place, but It didn't work. Maybe it will be for a next time.

Post 7, Bucket list

Hi again classmates. This time I have to talk a bucket list.
Curiously, I never thaught about a bucket list, but maybe it's a good idea, it's cool starting creating one. The things that I want today are usually non-ordinary experiences; related to sports, music, travels and strange activities. I'm very close to reach one of them, that is donate my hair to a cancer fundation, ideally to help a child who's going throught this illness. Talking about sports, climbing in ice or in a glacier it's something that I want to try someday. Maybe the only one that I really made it's to start training martial arts, but reach a black belt level could be a new goal. Talking about other activities, travel into entire Asia would be an insane experience, meeting new and totally different cultures and people had alroused my interest; but it would be difficult to achieve this, travel in a entire continent it's really expensive. I was thinking about wich person I'd like to share these activities, and depends of every context, maybe friends, family; but surely people that I love and I trust at 100%.
Sincerely, a bucket list It's not important at all in my life, because with every passing year is totally different to the rest, and everything turns really different comparing to the past, including desires, goals, etc (at least it's something that mark you for entire life).

Post 6,postgraduate

Hi again,

This time I have to talk about postgraduate studies. I'm looking for a Msc (master of science) in Geography, hopefully in Canada, in UBC. I choose that academy because it's one of the best schools of geography, and for his proximity to landscapes similar to Chile (mountains, rainforests and glaciers); and also because I will be near to my cousins (they live in Victoria, an island in front of Vancouver). I would take courses of glaciology, hidrology, environmental risks and climate change; simply because I love this area of the carreer, and also I'm interested in how the landscapes and forms are changing constantly and quickly (for the climate change), and how they affect the people and the cities. Also are envolved with the management resources, another big challenge of our actuallity.
I'm interested in the Msc because I would like to be an investigator. When I'm in a new place, I'm curious of how was formed, specially the mountains and glaciers. Sincerely, I really love these landscapes and it would be a pleasure to work and study on them.
If I go to Canada, I'm gonna need a big amount of money, so probably I will choose a part-time status to study and work while I'm there, but the disadvantage it would that I'm not gonna be 100% concentrated in my studies, I have to think on that.

Post 5, A future job

I'm not sure specifically about what is my ideal job, but surely it's related to the environmental area. Since I entered in geography, I'm feeling interested in the hidric area, specially in water management and glaciology. This interest was born from the climatic emegency, that I found and learned a few years ago. The protection of ecosystems are another topic of my interests, maybe a park ranger it would be a cool job. I imagine my self in a job or investigations with a lot of field research, because I don't like indoor jobs, I get bored easily inside an office. Of course I'd like to travel in my job (for the outdoor side), and also try to combine my job with mountaineering and hiking, it would be ideal for me.I'm not looking for a big salary, just the enough money to living well, without big luxury. Right now, I would like to study the glaciers and rivers, and find the instruments to defend the water resources that are left in us (all inside the climatic and water crisis in Chile and lot of places in the world), I think is a good way to help the people who lives in isolated areas, that are usually affected by the pillage of the water.

Post 4, favourite book

Hello guys, this time I have to talk about my favourite book and everything else related to that.

My favourite book is called "the seven sons of Simenon", written by Ramón Díaz Eterovic. This story took place in Santiago, nearly to the 2000. The main character called Heredia is a private detective, who works alone investigating littles cases like lost pets and teens that scaped from home, and occasionally troubles that involves the entire country. In this book he took a simple case in the beggining, but that envolves big troubles of corruption and political interests that threaten the ecological balance. I like how the author describes the city and the feelings of Heredia, revealing the melancholic and critical side of the character. Also I have to mention the parts of his cat, Simenon, that represents the alter ego of Heredia. In the book they talk to each other everytime like two opposite persons trying to conclude what's the best thing to do.
I don't have a favourite writer, I'm not a person who reads a lot. I like every kind of book it keeps my attention. I don't remember what was the last book that I read; but now I'm reading the first book of Game of Thrones, just to compare the story to the TV series. I recommend it if you watched the story on TV, beacuse It have a lot of more details and is not moving forward as fast as is could in TV. Also if you like fantasy books, it's a good opcion to read.

Post 3, movies

Hello everyone!. This time turns to talk about my favourite movie. Sadly, I don't like too much to see movies because I get bored too fast watching the same thing in a screen, that's why prefer to see TV series and short films.
But I have one movie that I like it so much, and I'ts Meru, a climbing documentary of the first ascent to the "shark's Fin", an extremely hard route of climbing in the indian himalayas. I'ts my favourite because one of the roped team was the director of the movie (Jimmy Chin), and he was recording clips of the route and also taking insane photos of the landscape that they have. Apart from the amazing views that they showed to the people, Jimmy was capturing important moments of the ascent, including the breakpoint of the team when they suffered several storms and a lot of problems on their expedition.

The last movie that I saw, It involves climbing too, and also was directed by Jimmy and his wife. It's free solo, a movie that's envolve Alex Honnold on his reach to climb "El Capitan" without ropes, harnesses and every safetly device. "El Cap" it's a huge granite wall located in Yosemite, CA. I recommend it only if you like to watch sports documentary; because has a different structure comparing to the rest of the movies.

I don't like to watch any special kind of movies. I'm motivated to see a film only if that get my attention. I saw free solo in february, so I'm not used to watch a lot of movies everytime.

The first one

I think the best concert I ever saw, was the first of my life, in 2010; It was Millencolin, a skatepunk band from Sweden. Today I'm not listening too often but the affection still, because It was the first band I ever known (at 7 years old) and also the first concert. Skatepunk it's one of the substyles of punk rock, includes intensive and fast melodies and riffs; making an incentive to make sports like skate, "increasing" the adrenaline sensation (a curious fact is that I never learn to skate), and Millencolin was an exceptional exponent of this style. The atmosphere was insane, and the feelings mix of nervous, emotion and joy makes an incredible sensation. The played in teatro novedades (Santiago), the space was too small for the crowd and it was a little bit caotic when the circle pit start spining, was really fun. On that ocassion, I went with 2 friends of the highschool and the sister of one of them, but I'm not in touch with them anymore, we choose too different ways after the school.

I was in a lot of concerts so far (including big festivals), and saw a big variety of music styles, but I choose that because was the first one, and I reached different experiences in that moment (I was a teenager).
